Toby Lineaweaver, MA, LMHC
A graduate of the University of California-Santa Cruz and Lesley College, Toby began his career in 1991 as a community outpatient therapist focusing on a broad spectrum of mental health issues. He soon developed a special ability for working with treatment-resistant clients, including adolescents, individual with substance use disorders and at-risk clients referred for court-mandated treatment. In 1995, Toby embarked on a lengthy association with the Penikese Island School, an acclaimed residential treatment program for troubled teenage boys that has been featured in numerous print and video media, including “60 minutes II.” While serving as Executive Director of the school for 15 years, Toby developed considerable expertise in organizational governance and administration, licensing and accreditation, strategic planning, public relations, and fundraising and development. As Program Director at Recovering Champions, Toby has the unique opportunity to use his administrative and clinical experience to integrate best treatment practices with the transformative power of nonjudgmental human connection in the treatment of substance abuse and addiction. He also enjoys spending time with his 3 boys and an avid hockey goalie.
